一、聽句子,選出句子中所包含的信息。
本題型主要是考查學生捕捉句子中關鍵信息的能力。一般所給的四個選項的讀音都比較接近,若放在句子中考查,還是有一定難度的。如:時間、地點、人物名稱,關鍵數字等。當試卷上出現含有阿拉伯數字的選項時應特別注意,由于這類題有一個阿拉伯數字轉換或英文數字語音的反應過程,所以要加強對表示數量、時刻、年月日、編號、電話號碼等數詞的英文讀法的練習。

二、聽句子,選出該句的最佳答語。
這樣的題型既考查了學生的聽力,又考查了學生的社會交際中的英語語言知識,這就需要學生們了解在特定的情景下如何更恰當地回答這個問題。
例如:

B. Nice talking to you, too.
C. Yes, let’s have a talk.
D. Very well, thank you.

三、聽對話和問題,選擇適當的選項。
本題型不再是簡單的圖畫,而是根據對話的內容選擇能回答問題的選項。在聽對話時,最好邊聽邊記,用自己平時熟悉的標記和符號,簡單記錄一下重要的信息,尤其是數字、時間、日期、人名、地名、所發生的事件等細節,這樣有助于形成完整的對話,以備核對復查。
例如:A. 26cents. B. 60 cents.C. 30 cents. D. 13 cents.

四、聽短文和問題,選擇正確答案。
2004年中考把本題型內容增大,增至三篇材料。從聽力材料的內容含量來看要求明顯加強。這就需要學生們加強對這種題型的練習。在聽短文時,需要學生做到邊聽邊記,不能光憑大腦記憶,一聽而過,而要養成聽音過程中邊聽邊手記的習慣,這樣做有助于解決每一個小題,在選擇時才更有把握。一般的短文理解中,大多數問題的答案可以從聽力材料中直接獲取,關鍵是要善于辨別出提供選項的重要信息和細節,短文材料的內容要比對話材料更多、更深、更廣,除了一些人名、地名、日期、數字之外,還有事件發生的地點、時間及原因,或是行為發生的方式、方法、條件和結果等。因此只有聽懂并記住這些重要信息與細節,才能選出正確答案。

五、聽對話填空。
本題型不是簡單地填單詞了,而是考查學生對篇章的理解能力和正確獲取信息的能力。這是一種綜合性較強的試題,這就要求學生在聽懂短文或對話的基礎上,還要能把所聽的此信息用文字表達出來,補全的內容是錄音中的某些關鍵信息。學生事先閱讀試卷上提供的文字材料。(這些文字材料不是錄音的原文,而是以提綱的形式再現的錄音主要內容。)這樣在聽材料時,就更有目標,更能抓住關鍵詞。
